The Sannio Consorzio Tutela Vini, based in Benevento, announces a new international mission dedicated to promoting the protected appellations and member wineries in the Swiss market, considered by many producers a strategic destination for commercial growth and for establishing Sannio wines abroad.

The program includes three professional stops aimed exclusively at industry operators:

·      24 September - Antica Osteria del Porto, Lugano from 18:00 to 20:00  in collaboration with the Swiss Union of Sommeliers and Winegrowers

·      1 October - Hotel Colorado, Lugano 16:00– 18:30 in collaboration with the Swiss Union of Sommeliers and Winegrowers

·      12 October – Zunfthaus zur Zimmerleuten - Zurich 14:30 – 15:30 in collaboration with Vinum magazine.

Switzerland has for years been a key market for numerous Sannio wineries, thanks to consumers’ strong focus on quality wines, the presence of an advanced restaurant scene, and sensitivity to local productions. For this reason the Consortium, which represents 8,000 wine entrepreneurs, about 100 bottling companies for over 800,000 hectoliters of wine produced, has chosen to invest in a structured project, aimed at creating new business opportunities for participating companies and building brand awareness in the Swiss market.

During the meetings, invited wine professionals will have the opportunity to explore the richness of the Sannio area, its viticultural biodiversity and the quality of its production, with particular attention to the appellations Sannio DOC, Falanghina del Sannio DOC, Aglianico del Taburno DOCG, Benevento IGT and other identity expressions of the territory.

The project is funded with OCM funds – Common Market Organisation for Wine, as part of promotion activities in third-country markets, and is part of the Consortium’s strategy to strengthen the international competitiveness of member companies.

The events on 24 September and 01 October will be a dynamic masterclass tasting and a masterclass, coordinated and presented by Anna Valli, Founder of USSE Sommelier with federal certification, trainer and founder of USSE, and by Silvia Rama, Donna del Vino, treasurer of the Italian Association for the Protection of Ungrafted Vines and wine communicator.

The event on 12 October in Zurich will be presented by Claudia Stern, a long-standing journalist and communicator of the Swiss wine world from the Vinum team.
